Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing have emerged as a dominant and efficient tool in many fields. Now a day’s GIS and RS technique is the important issue raised for planners and decision makers to make correct and effective decisions in that field.
APPLICATIONS:
1. Mapping in GIS:
Mapping is the central or main function of GIS, it provides a diagramtic reading of data. GIS store data in record then represent it diagrammatically in a mapped layout. In it we cannot need a skilled cartographer to create maps.
2. Agricultural applications:
In agricultural field GIS is used to generate more efficient and helpful techniques in farming field. It can also examine the data of a soil and then determines the best crop for it, which is very helpful for farmers to increase their infrastructure.
3. Change detection:
With the help of remote sensing we can determine the changes in different images. These images are taken at different times but in the same area.
4. Counting cars in parking for predicting retail earnings:
Many investors uses satellite imagery at big store parking lots for their money. The companies included are RS Metrics, which counts the number of vehicles in the parking areas and in return this can gives a snapshot of earnings and conversion rates.
